Meet and Get to Know Each Other

In Phase 1, program participants will meet each other and build a foundation for future research and workshops during the program.

All participants will get to know each other through body-interactive workshops.


● Saturday, October 10th - Self-Introduction

All players will officially introduce themselves to the others. Be creative! Your self-introduction can take the form of a simple statement, or singing and dancing, or some other performance of your own.


Try & Create

Phase 2 will have the players start working with our collaborators to reflect on their thoughts and practice. The collaborators will have their workshops and lectures planned, but the players can also bring ideas as to what kind of project to organize, based on their own interests.

Find Your Questions and Consider How to Respond to Them

Based on the collaborations in Phase 2, the players find their questions, and consider how to respond to their questions with their actions with the help of the collaborators.

We organize Kyodo World Expo, an event where the players give presentations on their findings through the activities in the past 6 months. The presentations will include their own questions they came up with through the program activities and each player will present their “actions” to respond to their own questions. Any small “actions” - such as displaying their creations, organizing discussions, creating their own zine, speaking to someone are welcome. We will be flexible in terms of the presentation methods and their contents.

Program content is subject to change.

We will shift from in-person programming to online programming in any of the following situations:

  • If governmental bodies ban/strongly discourage gatherings, for example by declaring a state of emergency.

  • If any of the participants or Kyodo Atelier visitors were infected with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

  • If the project administrators have come to the conclusion to stop in-person programming in consideration of various social conditions including an increase in the number of confirmed cases in Tokyo.
